Introduction
The programme aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practices relevant to the proposed field of study. Through this programme students will analyses the latest knowledge of the related theories and their applications in the proposed field of study. The programme aims at individuals who want to enhance their scholarship in the proposed field of study.
This programme aims to produce dynamic educators and professionals who are able to monitor and improve their practice as well as apply their practical knowledge, educational theories and research to resolve issues related to the field of education. The uniqueness of the programme is the emphasis on the sociology of education as a whole domain from both micro and macro perspectives. The micro aspect includes factors in the school and other educational institutions as agents of socialization such as culture and educational environment climate, discipline, peer group, and hidden curriculum. While from the macro perspective, the domains discussed include educational institution as a formal system, the teaching profession, equality in education, and cultural diversity in education.

The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree (with honours) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000, or
The applicant who has insufficient academic qualification can be admitted into the programme subjected to any other requirement specified by the Faculty/Institute.
An applicant from a local public university who is in the final semester of his undergraduate study programme may be considered for provisional admission provided that his latest CGPA or its equivalent academic result satisfies the graduate programme admission requirements.
For applicants with one of the following
550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or
Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training); or
79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or
Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre; or
Any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
