B.A. Advocacy and Social Change

The mission of Loyola University Chicago calls for all students, faculty and staff ''to make a difference as ‘persons for others.’'' The advocacy and social change major helps students do just that. With this major, students have opportunities to take a variety of courses, ranging from analyzing political campaigns to learning about environmental advocacy. The program requires that students complete a communication-focused internship, allowing students to apply their social justice-based learning in a real-world setting.Recent graduates have found employment with media literacy groups, domestic and international service organizations, internet start-ups and government bodies. Additionally, some graduates go on to work in film, television and AD/PR firms to connect their artisitic talent with their passion for serving the public. Others go on to pursue graduate work in law school, social work, social justice and education.
