We offer chemistry majors programs in four tracks including a Biochemistry concentration and a BS degree approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS).
Some of our graduates have gone on to careers at General Electric, Osram Sylvania, Genetics Institute, and Waters Corporation. Others are working on graduate degrees at Penn State, Brandeis, Brown, Tufts, and RPI.
The ACS approved option is a more rigorous program, reviewed and approved by the ACS Committee on Professional Training. Upon successful completion of this program and recommendation of the faculty, you will receive a certificate from the ACS Committee on Professional Training.
The biochemistry concentration is designed for students with an interest in biochemistry and the chemical aspects of biotechnology.

A first-year student is someone who has never been enrolled in any college or university, international or domestic. The admissions office reserves the right to request students to submit additional proof of English proficiency, even if they meet the above-listed requirements. Sub-scores for different sections within the examination are also considered in determining whether a student has a strong enough command of the English language in order to succeed at Salem State University.
