The Geology concentration is the most rigorous degree path in the Geological Sciences and is designed primarily for students wishing to pursue MS and Ph.D. degrees in Geosciences after graduation. The comprehensive geology curriculum, combined with support courses in allied STEM fields, ensures the required coursework for graduate programs while also preparing graduates for any career in geosciences. Students receive a solid foundation of geosciences through a combination of laboratory and field-based education and apply their skills in various careers, including forensic science, environmental consulting, education, and government agencies. Students in the Geological Sciences Department can take advantages of a wide range of resources, opportunities, and activities, available both inside and outside of the classroom

A first-year student is someone who has never been enrolled in any college or university, international or domestic. The admissions office reserves the right to request students to submit additional proof of English proficiency, even if they meet the above-listed requirements.
