The Gerrit Rietveld Academy is a university of applied sciences for Fine Arts and Design with approximately 1000 students. . It traces its roots back to the merger of three schools in 1924. The academy offers two bachelor degree programmes (Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Design) and four master degree programmes (Master of Fine Arts, Master of Applied Arts, Master of Design, and Master of Interior Architecture.). Students intending to pursue a Master's degree may apply to the Sandberg Institute. Gerrit Rietveld Academie also offers preparatory courses.
