University of South Dakota

Founded in 1862, the University of South Dakota (USD) is the oldest and only public liberal arts university in the state. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, with its liberal arts curriculum encompassing majors in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. USD is also home to the state’s only law and medical schools. The university’s beautiful 274-acre campus in Vermillion is located along the bluffs above the Missouri River in southeast South Dakota.
