The graduate degrees in classical studies offer you the opportunity to explore the languages, literature and mythology of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds as well as their history, culture and social life. You can develop your perspective not only on the ancient world but, importantly, on the modern world too.The University's teaching and research strengths are both in language and literature and in ancient history. In literature we have special strengths in ancient Greek and Roman epic but are interested in all other genres. Our ancient historians encompass both Greek and Roman history from the early archaic period down to, and including, the Roman Empire, and you can access the wealth of resources available in the ANU Classics Museum.
