This specialisation will prepare you to teach adolescents (12–18 years of age) in secondary schools from Year 7 to Year 12 in two teaching areas. You will actively engage with contemporary theories, concepts and practices of secondary education. You will develop inclusive teaching and learning practices to meet a diverse range of adolescents' cognitive, social and emotional needs, while building a repertoire of strategies to manage their learning in classroom settings.You will engage in the development and evaluation of various teaching approaches relevant to adolescent learning.You will develop specialist expertise in curriculum and pedagogy up to VCE-equivalent level and you will qualify as a specialist teacher in two discipline areas your major and minor study sequence from your undergraduate studies will determine your specialist areas as a secondary teacher. Throughout the course, you will focus on understanding that how adolescents learn is as varied as the individual learner themselves, and you will develop adaptive and inclusive teaching practices to respond effectively to learner needs.
