Indigenous studies is a vibrant field of social, political, historical and cultural study in Canada and around the globe.
Laurier's Indigenous Studies program is designed to teach you the perspectives and experiences of Indigenous people and will prepare you to engage with important socio-cultural issues facing Canada and the world.
Program Highlights
You’ll have the opportunity to work in the Medicine Garden at our Brantford campus Indigenous House, and learn from community leaders from the nearby Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.
Our Indigenous Student Centres at both our Brantford and Waterloo campuses are not only places where Indigenous students can connect with their heritage, but are also places of education for the broader Laurier community. All are welcome to our community medicinal and vegetable gardens, soup and frybread lunches, and other cultural programming hosted throughout the year.
