Studying these two subjects will provide you with a clear understanding of how English is structured, has evolved and is still evolving. You'll explore how languages are learned, taught and used in practice. Knowledge of English language and linguistics has direct, practical application in a wide range of careers. Explore the core areas of language and linguistics and develop specialist knowledge in areas such as discourse analysis, second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, onomastics, rhetoric and creative writing.
