Oral health therapists are experts in diagnosing, treating and preventing oral disease in clients of all ages. They are registered dental practitioners, skilled in treatments including deciduous tooth removals, select fillings and periodontal therapy. In this course you will develop the expertise to provide various clinical dental services and promote oral health. This course is accredited by the Australian Dental Council and the Dental Board of Australia. Graduates are eligible for professional recognition by the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists Association, and the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia. You will learn how to communicate with clients, to manage oral and dental diseases and encourage healthy behaviours. You'll also learn how to develop public health initiatives in oral health. During your studies, you’ll complete several clinical placements, collaborating with dentists and other professionals to address the oral health needs of clients. Upon graduating, you’ll have the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to commence your career in oral health therapy.
