The Bachelor of Songwriting and Music Production is a unique degree that supports self-producing music and sound artists to write, produce and release original creative work. This course is structured to provide students with agency over their learning, and to focus on their creative pursuits while learning practical, theoretical and technical skills related to sustaining a career in music or sound.This program is best suited to students who want to become songwriters, music producers, sound artists or sound designers. Our program offers opportunities to develop creative practice and career pathways by forging meaningful connections with peers, industry personnel, and local music and sound communities.The culmination of the course sees students empowered with the tools to successfully write, produce and present original music and sound work that reflects their individual creative vision. Outcomes of the course have included full length album releases, sound and audio-visual installations, sound for short films, music touring projects, performances and more.The course is delivered across two campuses, giving an opportunity for students to engage with the natural surrounds and purpose-built rehearsal and recording studios at the Fairfield campus, as well as taking advantage of the busy cultural centre of Collingwood.
