Economics is the study of how societies provide for the well-being of their citizens and the public policies that promote this well-being. This degree uncovers how consumers, governments, and businesses interact to build a healthy (or fragile) society. Prepare for a mix of courses that touch on almost every social science. Apply theory and methodology to explain the causal relationships between wages, natural resources, inflation, public policy and more.The minimum requirement for completion of a Bachelor of Science with a Joint Major in Economics and Mathematics is 121 credit hours. MATH 150-3 (Finite Mathematics for Business and Economics) may not be used for credit towards any Mathematics major or joint major. Note: Students enrolling in any Mathematics courses are required to have completed all prerequisite courses for that course with a C- or better, or have permission to enroll from the Chair of Mathematics.
