In the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Financial Services program, you’ll take business finance courses that cover financial planning and investing, business and financial law and financial literacy. Once you graduate, you’ll be prepared to take on roles such as financial planner, financial advisor or investment analyst. You’ll also be prepared to test for internationally recognized designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

It is strongly recommended that you begin your work experience requirement as soon as you are accepted into the BBA in Finance to help you graduate on time.

Once you’ve completed the BBA Finance degree and FP Canada Core Curriculum courses, you’ll be qualified to write the FP Canada Financial Planning (CFP) exam and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 exam. The CFP and CFA are both internationally recognized designations that help you stand out in the job market and open up more finance job opportunities in a variety of industries.

Completion of the courses below satisfies the FP Canada Core and Advanced Curriculum requirements allowing you to challenge the Certified Financial Planner and the Qualified Associate Financial Planner certification exams. To obtain full certification, you’ll be required to take the FP Canada Introduction to Professional Ethics program and the Professional Education program as well as complete relevant work experience.

English Language Proficiency:

B.C. high school English 12: minimum grade C.
TOEFL: iBT minimum score 83.
IELTS (Academic Module): minimum overall score 6.5. For post-degree and post-baccalaureate diploma programs, minimum score of 6.0 for each band.
Successful completion of four courses at ACE Level 2 and three courses at ACE Level 3 at Douglas College.
