Durham College’s Bachelor of Cybersecurity program is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals. This three-year degree is grounded in the core disciplines of computer and software security, programming, and networking, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning. Students develop practical expertise in areas such as scripting, encryption, ethical hacking, cryptography, risk management, cyberattack mitigation, and blockchain technologies.
Throughout the program, students build strong problem-solving and applied skills to assess cybersecurity risks and mitigate security threats. By graduation, they will be equipped to protect and secure networks, applications, databases, operating systems, software, and distributed systems from cyber threats, including hacking, malware, viruses, and denial-of-service attacks.
Learning is reinforced through the analysis of real-world case studies and practical scenarios, along with a mandatory 420-hour work-integrated learning experience. This combination ensures a seamless transition from academic study to industry practice.
