Admission requires an academic background in French and/or francophone studies, as well as good command of both oral and written French.

Applicants must satisfy the university admission requirements as stated in Graduate General Regulations 1.3 in the SFU Calendar. Admission requires an academic background in French and/or francophone studies, as well as good command of both oral and written French. Candidates who are not at the requisite level may be required to complete one or two terms as a qualifying student before admission is granted. Students are also expected to demonstrate a functional level of English.
