This MEd cohort is designed to bring experienced educators together for a two-year cross-disciplinary graduate program.The courses will focus on current issues and trends in early childhood education and will address a range of theories that guide early childhood studies.This project-based program is designed to bring experienced teachers a dynamic opportunity to work together on current issues and trends in early childhood education, and will address a range of theories and principles that guide early childhood studies. Students will conclude their program by developing an original graduating project based on their specific area of interest in early childhood education.Students in this program will:develop an understanding of early childhood theories and issues in the fieldacquire knowledge on the ways applicable truth and reconciliation calls to action can be introduced to young children in developmentally and emotionally-supportive ways, attain insight on children’s universal rights and children’s lives globallydevelop an understanding of young children’s complex and multiple identities, acquire knowledge on children’s diverse forms of communication and expressionThe Department of Curriculum & Instruction offers graduate programs at the Masters’ and Doctoral levels. We offer both full and part-time programs, on campus and in a range of community locations. Our department is home to 28 full-time faculty members, and we offer excellent research assistant and teaching opportunities with world-class scholars.The Department of Curriculum & Instruction offers MA and PhD programs focused on educational research, with coursework intended to provide foundational knowledge enabling a focus on researching in a specific area.
