The Master of Music programs in Conducting directly address the variety of career and life skills contemporary musicians must possess. Other English Language Requirements accepted: The Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment with a minimum band scores of between 50 and 60 in each of the four skills tested (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking), with at least two band scores of 60 are the minimum requirements necessary for admission to the Marine Institute; A minimum score of at least 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST) with a minimum band scores of 4.5 in the listening comprehension and reading comprehension sub-tests and a score of 4 in writing are required to satisfy Marine Institute English proficiency requirements; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) with a minimum score of 85.

Applicants must have completed Bachelor's degree (minimum second class) in Music; successful performance audition in candidate’s principal area of applied study; (entrance auditions held in late February and early March)

The minimum English proficiency test scores are as follows:

Duolingo (until further notice) - A score of 105 or higher.

TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition test - A score of 80 or higher.

IELTS - An average band score of 6.5 or higher on the academic test.

CAEL - A score between 50 and 60 in each of four bands, with at least 2 band scores of 60.

CanTEST - Band Level 4.5 in the listening comprehension and reading comprehension sub-tests and a score of 4 in writing.

MELAB - A score of 85% or higher.

PTE Academic - Minimum scores of 58 in each of reading, writing, listening, and speaking
