Our Principal Investigators are addressing complex biological questions with a strong emphasis on determining the cellular and molecular basis of disease, in particular in the fields of diabetes and vascular biology, neuroscience and cancer. Our mission is to deliver teaching and research excellence that fosters discovery and learning through collaboration within UCD, nationally and internationally.Research teams within the Diabetes and Vascular Biology theme apply interdisciplinary methods to cover a broad spectrum of areas including atherothrombosis, inflammation, diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy, and a range of related diseases. The research is grounded in complementary strengths within SBBS in molecular and cellular biology, cell signaling, immune and platelet biology, in vivo imaging and translational research.
