BA (Hons) 2D Creative Practice is a broad and exploratory course designed to develop your creative skills across a range of contemporary 2D practices.Through studio projects, workshops and contextual study, you will explore image-making, typography, visual language, photography, digital processes, print, surface pattern and bookmaking. The degree encourages experimentation with different materials, techniques and formats, helping you build a strong foundation in creative practice while developing your ability to communicate ideas visually and respond to different audiences and contexts.\\As you progress through the degree, you will begin to home in on one or two areas of creative practice that particularly interest you. This allows you to build more specialist skills, knowledge and professional practice while continuing to draw on the wider range of processes introduced earlier in the course. Increasingly, independent projects will enable you to refine your creative voice and develop a coherent body of work, with your projects building towards a professional portfolio that reflects your strengths, interests and aspirations.\\Professional development is embedded throughout the course. Collaborative projects, live briefs and competition briefs provide opportunities to work to realistic creative requirements, respond to a brief, communicate ideas and develop solutions within different contexts. These experiences help you build confidence in presenting and discussing your work, working with others, managing projects and responding professionally to feedback. By the end of the degree, you will have developed a portfolio of work alongside the communication, organisational and creative skills needed to pursue opportunities as a freelance practitioner or within an in-house creative team, studio or wider creative organisation.\\\*New for 2027, this course is subject to validation
