**About the course**Biomedical Science Foundation Studies: Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) is a one-year programme designed to build your confidence, academic skills and subject knowledge for progression into the health sector or undergraduate study.You will study in a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and independent learning. On successful completion, you can progress onto a degree, including Biomedical Science.**What you’ll study**You will gain a foundation in biological sciences, human health and research skills, alongside essential academic and communication skills.Modules may include:• Academic Skills and Communication• Data Analysis and Research Skills• Foundations of Biological Sciences• Human Health and DiseaseModules are subject to change.**How you’ll learn**Teaching takes place through lectures, seminars and workshops delivered by experienced academic staff.You will receive regular support from an academic guidance tutor, alongside face-to-face and online careers and study support.With teaching delivered over no more than three days per week, you will have flexibility to undertake part-time work, placements or internships alongside your studies.**How you’ll be assessed**Assessment methods include coursework, reports and online tests, designed to develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills while introducing industry-relevant practices.**Future opportunities**This CertHE prepares you to progress onto an undergraduate degree, such as Biomedical Science, or move towards a career in the health sector.You will also benefit from dedicated careers support to help you build your CV, prepare for interviews and connect with graduates and employers.
