We offer a full-time or part-time PhD (3 years full-time and 6 years part-time). Degrees by research require an original contribution to the body of knowledge in a particular academic or professional discipline.
Students are registered initially for the degree of PhD (Doctor of Philosophy), although their status is probationary until the first Annual Review has taken place, normally between 12 and 18 months from first registration. All research students must also subject their work to an annual progress review. Credits from the PhD in Business permit a Blackbelt accreditation with the ''International Lean Six Sigma Institute''.
Postgraduate research is not to be taken lightly! Above all, we seek to achieve an acceptable match involving a capable and well-motivated student, an appropriate research topic, and a member of faculty able / willing to supervise the research.

The successful applicant should have been awarded, or expect to achieve, a First or Upper Second Class award in their Undergraduate Degree, and/or a Merit or Distinction in their masters degree, in relevant subjects. Equivalent to a British level 7 degree. We welcome applicants with a masters degree in any area of business or management, including (but not limited to) marketing, finance, business, project management, or the social sciences.
