Research within our Digital Manufacturing theme focuses on exploring changes in manufacturing and engineering paradigms resulting from the development and adoption of digital technologies across multiple domains of the manufacturing value chain in order to address major scientific, industrial and societal challenges.The key challenge of digital manufacturing is that technology is moving at an exponential pace and organisation and individuals are struggling to keep up with the change. As a result, ask ten different researchers or industrialist what does digital manufacturing means and you will get ten different answers.
