Applicants must hold a good UK Honours degree with a minimum classification of second class honours, lower division (2:2), or an equivalent qualification, along with GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in Mathematics, English, and Science, although a range of equivalencies are accepted and candidates with pending GCSEs will be considered. Equivalency tests in English, Mathematics, and Science are also accepted. Due to high demand for places, applicants must demonstrate clear and effective communication skills in spoken and written English with a strong command of grammar, meet the Secretary of States requirements for physical and mental fitness to teach, fulfil all Department for Education entry requirements for Initial Teacher Education courses, including suitability and fitness to teach checks, and obtain Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance prior to the start of the course. Applicants must not have been previously excluded from teaching or working with children. Students will specialise in either Early Years (ages 3–7, Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1) or Primary (ages 5–11, Key Stages 1 and 2), and must demonstrate engagement with the relevant Key Stages before applying. Applications are welcomed from individuals with a range of talents, experiences, and backgrounds; however, only UK residents are eligible for funding.
