AS in Pre-Secondary Education: Life Sciences

Secondary educators teach students in grades 7-12. They guide students to delve deeply into a particular academic content area, while supporting social and civic engagement. Secondary Education majors specialize in a specific content area such as chemistry, biology, English language arts or social studies. As an aspiring secondary teacher, this program will help you to understand the complex human and social factors involved in educating students, as well as practices that support diversity and lifelong learning. A bachelor’s degree in education is the minimum requirement to become a teacher. As an associate degree program, UC Clermont offers freshman and sophomore coursework with the expectation that students will transfer to either UC Clifton or Northern Kentucky University to complete their preparation and earn a bachelor’s degree.
