Geology is the study of the composition, processes, and history of the Earth. How rocks were formed and what has happened to them since formation. It is also the study of the evolution of life by analyzing plant and animal fossils. Students will learn the foundations of geology to include becoming familiar with the terminology and the history behind this science. Students will be prepared to transfer to the university to complete a Bachelor’s Degree. Geology courses at NLC explore what the Earth is made of and how it works as a planet, how the landscape forms, and how the Earth has changed throughout its history.
