Lehigh’s undergraduate major and minor in sociology and anthropology teaches students statistics, cultural diversity and human nature, human evolution and pre-history, research methods and data analysis. Lehigh’s anthropology students say they value not only what they learn through courses, internships, and independent research, but also the personalized attention and active mentoring they receive from faculty. Sociology and anthropology are two different social science disciplines that share a single department at Lehigh. Sociology and anthropology majors take the same core classes as both sociology majors and anthropology majors, but then focus on breadth across the two fields, rather than depth in any one field, in selecting their electives.
