Painting at UTA prepares students to become working artists. We embrace a wide range of conceptual and material approaches where the tradition of painting is developed, examined, and challenged. It is a safe and open community with a focus on engaging painting in the 21st century. The Painting studio at UTA is a dynamic space where students acquire and refine their skills with rigorous technical instruction and hands-on experience.Students have access to a fully equipped wood shop a fabrication lab complete with 3D printers, CNC routers, laser cutters, and large-format printers and scanners well-lit studios furnished with painting carts and easels and a large critique space.
