Explore the future of the field while developing a portfolio of work as you learn to use your artistic endeavors to convey meaning and support visual problem solving.LEARNING OUTCOMESContext Students will demonstrate an in-depth comprehension of art history, contemporary practice, and theory - understanding how they inform and influence their artistic practice.Concept Students will develop a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to utilize critical inquiry and research to develop meaningful and innovative content in their work.Process Students will develop a portfolio that demonstrates facility with, and command of their chosen tools and materials as well as the formal properties that underlie their use. They will also demonstrate an understanding of how concept informs choices with respect to tools and materials.Integration Students will demonstrate the emergence of a personal voice and visual style/approach in their work.Professional Practice Students will demonstrate knowledge of the steps and elements required to embark on the pursuit of a successful career (in and/or out of the arts) after graduation.
