Broadly speaking, mechanical engineers study, design and fabricate devices and components that move and use energy (i.e., almost everything). Some examples include automobiles, aircraft, power plants, robots, pollution control systems, environmental remediation systems, children’s toys, motors, engines, and air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

International students applying to Catholic University must have successfully completed a university preparatory course of study at a secondary school (a minimum of 12 years of primary and secondary school training comprising the equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma).

Acceptable Test Scores

TOEFL - 80 Internet (should have at least 20 out of 30 in each category); 150 Paper; 213 Computer.

IELTS - 6.5 (individual test module scores are also reviewed in addition to the overall score to ensure proficiency)

Duolingo - 105

PTE - 58

Application deadline for Fall semester (Sept. to Dec.): Nov. 1 - Early Action and Early Decision I application deadline; Feb. 1 - Regular Decision and Early Decision II application deadline.
