Pittsburg State University's Department of Chemistry prepares students for careers in science, chemical engineering, pharmacy, chemistry teaching, pre-engineering, and other university programs that require rigorous training in chemistry. It offers eight Bachelor of Science Degrees, two Master of Science Degrees, and one minor. The Department of Chemistry offers offers eight Bachelor of Science Degrees, two Master of Science Degrees, and one minor. The professional emphasis is an Ameri­can Chemi­cal Society approved degree plan and is designed to prepare students for professional careers. The education emphasis is designed for the student desiring to prepare for secondary level chemistry teaching.
