STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for 3 years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the USA. This program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Students in this Bachelor of Science program in economics choose from a variety of electives offered by the Department of Economics and many other ASU departments. All students are encouraged to develop programs of study tailored to individual needs and interests. Students acquire the critical thinking and communication skills needed to succeed in business or graduate school. The program of study can also be tailored to prepare students for graduate programs in economics, business or law. Students interested in pursuing a doctorate in economics are strongly encouraged to minor or major in mathematics as well. The department's mission is to provide the highest quality instruction to students, conduct advanced research in economics, and provide leadership and service to professional communities.
3.4 GPA or equivalent. Must have three years of high school coursework. (If you are currently in high school, ASU needs to see 9–11 grade coursework. If you have completed high school, ASU needs to see 10–12 grade coursework.)Must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
