As a student pursuing the Bachelor of Science with a major in merchandising, you become skilled in consumer studies, textiles, fashion theory, trend analysis, brand development and promotion. This curriculum was developed in consultation with leaders of the Dallas-Fort Worth retail industry to give you the essential skills for the job market. The program is accredited by the Textile and Apparel Program Accreditation Commission (TAPAC). With a focus on fashion-oriented products including apparel, furnishings and decor, our proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex offers graduates immense internship and employment opportunities upon graduation. We teach you to critically analyze merchandising scenarios relating to the design, development, distribution, evaluation, and use of fashion-oriented products. The curriculum is developed in consultation with leaders of the Dallas-Fort Worth retail industry to meet industry needs. Students can also have the option to have a concentration in either fashion or furnishings and decor.
