The Bachelor of Science in geological engineering brings together College of Engineering and College of Science in a joint program that blends engineering design, geoscience fundamentals and applied environmental problem solving. You’ll learn from faculty across both colleges while engaging in courses and research opportunities that span disciplines. This interdisciplinary degree gives you a rare blend of real-world problem-solving skills amid changing environmental conditions. You’ll innovate solutions to challenges posed by climate change, geohazards, mining and urbanization. Gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience that prepare you for a wide range of career opportunities, from resource management to geotechnical risk assessment. Grounded in science, mathematics and civil engineering, you’ll be able to zero in on design experiences in your area of interest through technical elective courses. Culminating at the annual Engineering Design EXPO, you’ll complete your studies with a team-based senior design project sponsored by a real client.
