The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Iowa State University is a unique, campus-based program. This degree-completion program is designed only for people who are already registered nurses who want to advance their education and career by earning a BSN.
Iowa State’s coursework and hands-on learning activities: enhance the health promotion and disease prevention role of Registered Nurses, apply nursing science and patient-centered care for helping people stay healthier longer, focus on the culture of health for nurses, individuals and communities, demonstrate the continuum of care, from a nurse’s self-care to patient care to community and population health
The ISU RN-BSN program benefits nurses in all areas of practice by providing: the knowledge and skills needed to understand and apply evidence-based nursing practice and experience the wealth of research conducted at ISU, opportunities to engage with campus health programs, the student population, and the surrounding community, development of leadership skills to enhance practice and prepare for career advancement, practicum opportunities locally, with options for travel abroad, a strong core of nursing coursework complemented by ISU courses in areas of study supporting individual career goals, emphasis areas that include nutrition and wellness, health coaching, gerontology, leadership and management.

Students must meet the requirements for admission as indicated below: 4 years of English or your native language; 3 years of science (including at least two years of laboratory science courses which emphasize elements of biology, chemistry, or physics); 3 years of math (including algebra and geometry); 2 years of social studies; SAT or ACT test scores are not required for admission, but providing them will speed up your admission decision. SAT or ACT is required for freshman scholarship consideration.

TOEFL - Internet-Based TOEFL (IBT) score of 71 with a minimum score of 17 in both the Writing and Speaking sections and Paper-Based TOEFL (PBT) score of 530
IELTS - Overall band score of 6.0 with no sub score below 5.5
PTE - Score of 48
