Special education teachers are dynamic individuals that enjoy solving problems, building relationships, and managing a variety of tasks. Special education teachers also have excellent communication skills as they frequently collaborate with families, related service providers, and administrators. Oftentimes, they work alongside the general education teacher in the regular classroom as well as provide small group learning in their own classroom. Ultimately, special education teachers advocate for students with disabilities to ensure that each child receives individualized instruction, tailored to meet the unique needs of a particular student.
