At Sacred Heart, you’ll put practical accounting concepts into action as you analyze financial information, develop reports, and learn about regulations. You’ll graduate with the hands-on experience and knowledge needed to pursue a career in the accounting field. In the Accounting program, you will- Master accounting concepts, principles, and theories. Learn professional codes of ethics and explore current ethical issues. Understand internal accounting systems, controls, and reports for decision-making purposes. Apply concepts and analyze the results. Study professional and regulatory requirements. Pursue internships with companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Prudential Securities, Merrill Lynch, KPMG and PWC. Have the opportunity to apply to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, where you can gain hands-on, real-world experience.
