STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for 3 years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the USA. STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for a 24-month extension to Optional Practical Training in the USA. Data science professionals use sophisticated statistical, computational and mathematical tools to extract patterns from large, complex and often unordered data sets. In the Bachelor of Science program in data science, students are prepared to be critical analysts in a variety of areas, such as business, research and government. With a mathematical core consisting of linear algebra, statistical inference and classification, data mining, machine learning and associated computer methods, the program gives students a strong background in data-related skills that are useful in understanding and solving practical issues.
3.0 GPA or equivalent. Must have three years of high school coursework. (If you are currently in high school, ASU needs to see 9–11 grade coursework. If you have completed high school, ASU needs to see 10–12 grade coursework.) Must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
