Pursue in-depth research and training in clinical teaching methodology and practice with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in any of 14 programs. The doctorate degree program prepares PhD students for leading roles at top scientific research institutes or expert positions in government organizations and for-profit industries. With personalized training paths for both medical and veterinary graduates, SGU’s PhD program offers an intensive focus on clinical applications in veterinary and human medicine. Additionally, SGU’s School of Arts and Sciences offers a PhD in Management for graduates who have an MBA, MPH, MS, MPhil, or MA. Our PhD programs are offered through our medical school, veterinary school, and arts and sciences school. To earn a PhD, you must complete at least 60 credits. Your research and coursework will be directed by your supervisory committee.

A bachelors degree with a strong science background is necessary.Bachelors Degree in the requisite sciences. Advanced Levels: A minimum of 3 subjects with grades A or B in biology, chemistry, and either math or physics. If neither math nor physics was taken at A Levels, a strong third non-science subject may be accepted, provided there is proof that math or physics was taken at AS Level. Approved Foundation Programs: SGU recognizes and approves a range of science/medical pathway programs.
