San Jose State is implementing a hybrid campus model, with about 90% of our classes being taught remotely. It will either be taught synchronously, with everyone meeting at the same time, or asynchronously, where people can take part in the class at different times. This will allow us then to have about 10% of classes that are either full-time or part-time on campus. These classes are in kinesiology; athletics; STEM classes, particularly upper division courses that need labs; and, dance, art, and music studio programs where people need that one on one- or multiple-person interaction. We are providing these in-person courses with student, faculty, and staff safety as the guiding principle.
