The goal of the Operational Hydrology certificate is to create an interdisciplinary education program that produces graduates capable of applying new prediction tools (e.g., Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML)) to advance the science and practice of hydrologic forecasting (e.g., forecasting of floods, drought, water quality, stream temperature) across space and time scales and improve the societal response to the forecast (e.g., emergency response, long-term planning.) The certificate program prepares students for success in applied hydrology research and practice.

To be considered for regular admission to the Graduate School, you must have at least one of the following grade point averages (GPAs), on a 4.0 scale
An overall 3.0 GPA.
A 3.0 GPA in any prior graduate program that you may have completed.
Transcripts using a different grading scale will be evaluated and converted to a 4.0 scale by the Graduate School.
You must upload a legible transcript or mark sheet for each college or university attended (including community colleges) at which you earned at least 15 semester hours of coursework. Your application will be evaluated based on these documents. University of Alabama transcripts do not need to be uploaded.
