Graduate Certificate in Safety and Health Engineering

With the advent of new technologies there is an ever increasing need for safety professionals to define and establish hazard control methods within emerging technologies. Similarly, there is an on-going demand for occupational safety professionals in industry and governmental agencies. Engineering graduate students are in a unique position to apply their technical skills in conjunction with obtaining new skills in safety and health to address the aforementioned needs. The Safety and Health Engineering Certificate encourages graduate students to focus a portion of their program of study upon safety and health courses. Through obtaining the proposed certificate, the graduate engineering student will be in a better position to fulfill their professional duty to promote and hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public.
