Pursue clinical practice at the master's level. In Illinois and many other states, completing this program qualifies you to apply for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC and, later, LCPC). In this 60 credit-hour program, you’ll gain broad-based training in psychological assessment and intervention and the theory and research that support these practices. This 3-year program consists of in-person classes on either the Schaumburg or Chicago campuses. Admissions are open for fall and spring start dates.

Applications can be completed entirely online. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related course work. If you do not have a psychology degree, pre-requisite courses are required for admission with a recommended 3.0 GPA in general psychology, abnormal psychology and research methods. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities in the United States; unofficial copies of transcripts from international universities. Letter of intent outlining your personal and professional goals, why you are interested in this program, and how it will help you achieve your goals. Please address how you became interested in a counseling career and what you hope to accomplish as a counselor. One letter of recommendation.
